My Race journey started in the mountains of Comayagua, Honduras and will be coming full circle when I return  to Catracho Missions with some of my squad, my family and my church family exactly a year later this upcoming January! As I left for the Race, my parents asked me to pray for and keep my eyes open for ministries we could potentially partner with as Explore Church (my home church) in Central or South America. As a church we had been looking for and praying for years for a ministry to partner with and knew we were looking for a ministry with a heart for church planting, discipleship focus, raising up local missionaries, and led by a local missionary.
I’d be lying to say I didn’t have doubts about whether I would find a ministry for my church to partner with while on the field. But I diligently prayed for a partnership and that God would keep my eyes open to it, and then on January 8th, 2021 our squad was told that our route had changed and we would be starting our journey in Honduras working with a ministry focused on training men and women for missionary multiplication and church planting! I immediately called my family to first of all tell them that I may not have internet access for the next two months, lol, and secondly to share that I believed this was the ministry we were to partner with. I hadn’t even arrived, and yet, I had peace that this is where God was leading us.
Later that week my squad arrived at Catracho Missions and I felt that God had blessed me in how it felt like coming home in many ways. We lived for 2 months in the mountains in our tents, surrounded by beautiful wilderness and incredible community, doing evangelism with the people of the mountain, manual labor and construction in building onto the church, baptismal and nutritional sustainability projects. We served alongside other missionaries in teaching Spanish and Bible lessons to the women and children of the mountain and we learned and were discipled as missionaries growing alongside the local missionaries there. Our time there was so fruitful, beautiful, and foundational in our teams’ journey for this year and by the time I was leaving, my church leadership and church had prayed about it and Catracho Missions was confirmed as a ministry we would like to partner with in the future.
Over the past couple months Explore Church leadership has met with Paul Steer (the pastor and lead missionary at Catracho Missions) several times and I’m so excited to share that we will be partnering with Catracho Missions this upcoming January!!! I am so very excited to return to my friends, family, ministry and country I love so very much. While we were in Honduras the first time, we prayed over a plot of land that Catracho Missions was trying to purchase to build an additional church, women’s and community center, missionary housing, and soccer field on for the local people. They have been able to purchase this land in the past few months and in January we will be able to help with preparing that land and starting construction for their ministry expansion.
I am excited and so thankful for this opportunity to return and serve as much of my heart is in Honduras and with the people there. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to share Catracho Missions and my experiences with them with my parents and others from my church family and ministry partners. A few others from my squad are also hoping to come with us and I’m excited for my two worlds to meet in that space and for us to be able to continue in ministry together as we have very much become a family this year.
God is so good and He has been so faithful throughout my life and this journey as a missionary and I’m so excited for the opportunity to return and continue to serve the Lord and the people of Honduras along side both my spiritual and biological family. I have not been in a position to earn money this year while serving on the mission field and am praying for and seeking people who would like to partner with me in this ministry as prayer partners and/or financial partners. If you feel led to partner with me prayerfully or financially please reach out to me via email at [email protected], Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp. You can also venmo me at @Naomi-Hasenyager. <span;>If you are interested in joining us on this mission trip and want more logistical details and information, please reach out to and email [email protected].
As always thank you so very much for partnering with me and praying with me on this journey. God is doing mighty things throughout the world and I am so thankful for how God has allowed me to partner with Him in sharing His Good News wherever I am. Colossians 1:6 tells us “This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.” I have seen this scripture to be true this year and am so encouraged and thankful for the power of God’s truth and how it is bringing life transformation all over the world. I pray for you all and pray that you will also allow God’s truth to transform your heart and lives as well as share His truth with all around you.
