We’re back in the United States and in a couple of days I will be going home to Montana. It feels so surreal to be back at the Adventures in Missions base in Georgia where we started this journey with training camp, launch and now final debrief. In some ways it almost feels like a dream, as if the whole last 11 months didn’t really happen. And yet I know from all of the memories that I have, the countless testimonies, lifelong lessons learned and friendships made as well as over 10,000 photos that it has happened and it was incredible and it’ll impact me for the rest of my life.
The purpose of this week is to be able to process and reflect with one another, to celebrate this past year and prepare for going back home and whatever’s next. As we’re getting ready to go back home the question of what’s next for you or what are you going to do when you get home keeps rolling around and for myself I don’t have an answer yet. I don’t know what’s next. It used to be a really scary thought to not have a plan or know where I’m headed, and yet this time around it’s not so bad. I have peace in this season of not knowing as God has reassured me that while I don’t know what’s next, I do know Him and I know His character.
God is faithful and good and His steadfast love endures forever. God’s character does not change; He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I get to rest in His love and step into whatever this next season holds with confidence that it will be good and God will use it and work it to the good of His kingdom and my life.
As of right now my plans are to reconnect with my friends and family and my incredible church community, to celebrate the holidays and then to return to Honduras for a mission trip in January. After that my hope is to return to living in Missoula and step into whatever adventure God has next. I trust that God has incredible things in this next season and I’m so excited to share with all of you what those may be as I step into them. In the meantime I will be resting in the peace that comes from the Lord and just trusting Him with every element of my life. I want to encourage you that if you’re feeling anxious or unsure of what God’s doing or what is next that it’s okay to be in a season of stillness, resting and trusting in Him. It’s beautiful to rest in the Lord.
As always, I want to thank you for walking with me through this journey and partnering with, praying for and supporting me this year. It has been such an incredible year of seeing God’s faithfulness and connecting with the Church all over the world. I’m so excited to share more with you all as I’m coming home in a couple days and to catch up and hear about your lives and all that God has been doing and working in your hearts in the last year.
If you would like to greet me at the airport I will be coming into the Missoula airport at 11:51 PM on Thursday December 1st and I would love to see you there! I’m so excited to be home with all of you and ask that you’ll be praying for me and my squad as we step into this transition and are saying goodbye and ending this season. Thank you!
Psalm 107:1
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever.”
Hello Sweet Naomi! By the time I’m writing this you will soon be in the arms of family and friends…a place you have thought of much and longed for greatly. Enjoy every moment of those embraces! It has been a wild ride this year. Your revelation of resting in Him is so beautiful….no anxiety no needing to know all the answers. HE HAS GOT YOU! Love you so much! Still praying.
I love you both so very much! Thank you for supporting me, coaching me and walking me through this journey. I’m looking forward to visiting and seeing you soon!
Well done, Naomi. I’m so proud of the daughter, friend, and leader you are. May His face continue to shine upon you each day to come.
