Hey there! Thank you so much for partnering with me in this journey! I have some exciting announcements to make as well as some prayer requests. I am officially over 60% funded and have met my second fundraising goal! Thank you so much for your faithfulness and partnering with me in this way, making this mission trip a reality for me. Over this past month and a half I have had the opportunity to serve on a mission trip in Alaska, transition into a new school year at my job and purchase much of my gear for training camp next month. I am so encouraged by God’s faithful provision and am excited for what’s to come.

Yesterday we were notified that due to logistics and group sizes, members from another squad will likely be joining us and our route has changed! We will still be serving in Central and South America, however instead of Southeast Asia we will now be partnering with ministries in Africa! I am so excited to learn more about the ministries and partners we’ll be working with in Africa and am looking forward to updating you all on that soon.

I am so encouraged by God’s faithfulness and provision of not only my physical needs, but my relational needs as well. God has blessed me with incredible community in my roommates, family, and church family. I am starting to build relationships with my squad and am excited to be meeting them all in person next month. Please be praying for the members of my squad and the other squad as they are going through this transition and change. I also appreciate prayers for myself as I continue to prepare for training camp next month and am meeting with potential partners.

For those of you who don’t know, I work as a clinical mental health therapist at an elementary school in Missoula, MT. I love the students and families I work with and many of them are hurting right now. Please be praying for these families, the staff at the school, opportunities to share God’s love and truth, and space for me to be healthy and cared for as well. I appreciate you all so very much! Thank you for partnering with me and making this ministry possible!

  1. Naomi it is fantastic hearing your updates along this journey. As you know the internet is loaded with bystanders, aka lurkers, who just observe what is happening. I have been guilty of this too. But as you found out people do read your blog and have an interest in your progress in this challenging adventure! Who knows how many others read your blog and don’t give you feedback.

I challenge the folks out there who have read Naomi’s blogs to give her an occasional ‘atta girl’ to let her know you are out there!

Good job Naomi! I’m happy to partake virtually in this journey and in a small way in supporting you in dedicating a year of your life to the mission.

Continue to cast the bread upon the water.
